After days of rain so heavy that it flooded fields (not ours), washed out roads and filled basements, we finally got a little break .
Taking full advantage of this sunny window, we ventured into the woods to have a look at the damage.
A once miniature creek was overnight transformed into a raging river, old rotten trees had crashed and shattered on the forest floor and mosses in every shape and size were knocked from the canopy above and scattered across the ground. It was breathtaking.
Thoroughly swept up in the magic, I filled my pockets with lichen, moss and twigs.
Little snippets of nature to remind me to go looking more often.
